Legend:
There are no scriptural notes or any separate legends on these deities.
The local people say that King Rukmangadhan ruled over this place. He had nurtured a large flower garden. But without his knowledge devas from the heaven plucked all the flowers and did pooja to Vishnu. The king noticed this and caught the devas as their chariots would not arise to fly. However Rukmangadha was a devotee of Sri Vishnu and was observing "Ekadesi virtham" regularly. Since the deavas were stealing the flowers to do pooja to Vishnu the king gave away the 'merits' of all his Ekadesi virthams to the devas. On being bestowed with the 'merits' of the ekadasi virtham the devas' chariots rose up heaven-ward and they disappeared. It is said all these events happened in the fraction of a minute. (meaning "Kadikai" in tamil language is 'less than a second') Henceforth this abode is called Thiru Kaditthanam.
