Legend: Once Vamadeva and Saptharishis did penance to Sri Vishnu to have his darshan as Narasimah as he incarnated in Tredha yuga for Baktha Prakalatha. Demons to spoil the penance were creating unending obstacles.
At this time Sri Vishnu at the end of his incarnation as Rama was returning to Vaikundam. Sri Anjaneya whished to go along with him. Sri Vishnu said Anjaneya should go to Kadi-kachalam (present Sholingapuram) and save the Rishis penance.

Accordingly Sri Anjaneya came to Kadikachalam and he battled with the demons called Kalan and Keyan. Maruthi became very tired and prayed to Sri Rama who appeared before Anjaneya and gave him a pair of Shanku and Chakkaram.

Hanumar regained his power and cut the heads of demons with the Chakkaram and saved the sages' and Vamadeva's penance. Lord Vishnu was pleased with the sages' penance and gave them dharshan as Sri Narasimha.

Further Vishnu told Anjaneya that he should stay back in this temple as Yoga Anjeneya and join with him at the end of this Kali yuga.
The Lord sits as Yoga Narasimah on the hill top here and Anjaneya is at the foot hill as yoga Anjaneya. It is said that because of this Anjaneya lives in this earth till the end of Kaliyuga.Wherever devotees recite Ramayana Sri Rama Baktha Anjaneya will always be there though invisible.
