Legend
Satya-kshetra puran says this place was called Satyagiri. Aadhi Sheshan, Chandran and Satya-muni all did penance here and became famous. Emperor Bruruva came to this place and stayed here for many years worshipping the deity Satyagiri-Nadhan.He attained liberation achieved through god. The merits of this temple:
Chandran worshiped the idol called ' Dhathi Vamanam ' made of Chandra Kandha kal ( magnetic stone )and installed on the south side of Satya-Pushkarini
Secondly the deity called 'Sayana-Moorthi' ( in the lying pose) was installed by Adi-Seshan on the Southern side of Thiru-Meyyam hills and worshiped by the 10 hooded snake.
The third deity on the top of the meyyam hill made of Garuda Pacchai. (Green Stone) was worshiped by Garuda. It is said that this place is guarded by Aadhi-Sheshan.
