Legend:
When Sri Vishnu incarnated as Sri Krishna in Dwaparayuka he went as an envoy to Duriyodhana's palace behalf of the Pandavas.Duriyodhana plotted to kill Sri Krishna.He dug a pit covered it with the green leaves and placed a seat for Krishna over this. The Idea was when Krishna sat on the chair he would fall into the pit and would be killed by Duriyodhana's soldiers. But contrary to the plan as soon as Krishna fell into the pit he killed all the soldiers and assumed a form in gigantic proportion . After a long time When the Maha-Bharadha war was over king Janame jayan requested sage Vaisambayaner that he wanted to see the lord in wisvaroopam.The sage asked him to go to Kanchi and perform aswa-medha-Yagam and at the end of the yaga he would have the Lord's Dharshan. Accordingly the king performed the yaga and had the darshan of Lord Sri Krishna as he was when he came out of the pit. This incident took place in Thiru-Padagam in Kanchipuram. | ||
